It fuels my intense rowing drills, guides my late-night euphonium practices, and propels me deep into historical archives.

 

But as I recently learned from a midnight reading on the leaders of the civil rights movement, boundless energy is only meaningful when directed toward a greater purpose.

 

One of my biggest role models is Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. was more than a man of ambition. He focused his drive on achieving equality through peaceful, determined action, even when faced with immense challenges.

 

Like King, I am motivated by a multitude of interests, but each of my passions—whether in sports, music, or academics—aligns with my greater goal of creating positive change. I aim to uplift those around me and inspire meaningful impact.
